PMC Teen Mountain Bike Ride to Raise Money for Cancer Care and Research Saturday, October, 13

New this Fall, the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge Teen Mountain Bike Ride is an off road ride exclusively designed for 13-18 year olds from numerous Boston area communities and schools and it empowers teens to be part of the PMC mission. The ride will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 9am at The Hale Reservation in Westwood, MA. Participating in this ride is a great way for teens to earn Community service and NHShours. The PMC Teen Mountain Bike Ride expects 300 teens, ages 13 to 18, to ride multiple loops of a 1.7-mile gently rolling carriage trail at the Hale Reservation www.halereservation.org. The PMC Teen Mountain Bike Ride was started by brother-sister team, Matthew and Nicole Piispanen ,and friends George Ebbs and Chris Ulian, of Wellesley, MA. Matthew, 16, and Nicole, 14, have participated in the PMC Kids Ride program since they were in elementary school and started Team Wipeout. The group of friends wanted to create a ride specifically to bring teens from around the state together to get involved with the PMC. They will be hosting a post ride party with food, a raffle and music by student DJs The Emcees. There will be prizes for the “shock jock heavy hitters” who raise $250 or more. The goal is for the whole ride to raise $30,000 and to attract student riders from lots of different communities and schools. The PMC Teen Mountain Bike Ride is slated for Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 9-10:30 am and the post ride party from 10:30-noon at the Hale Reservation, 80 Carby Street, Westwood, MA. There is a $10 registration fee and a suggested $100 fundraising minimum. Registration is open immediately at www.kids.pmc.org/tmbr.aspx and is limited to 300 riders For questions and donations, email pmcteenmtb@gmail.com or call 781-449-5300
